how to express decimal in p/q form

Hey student,

Let's know how to covert decimal expansion to p/Q  form

So let's start,

Example- convert 1.27 to p/q form and q is not equal to 0

First step,

          ——

Let 1.27 = x

            __

X = 1.27

X = 1.272727......... — 1

After multiply by 100

X x 100 = 1.272727......

100x = 127.272727....... — 2

Now substract equation 2 from 1

 100x -x = 127.272727 -  1.272727

99x = 126

Now move 99 to opposite side

X = 126 /99 = 42/33

Where p=42 and q=33
